MVPA ANNUAL CONVENTION

The MVPA's Annual Convention with Swap Meet & Vehicle Display...
It May be coming to your town!

It's not uncommon to see classic or collector cars at a cruise in, or perhaps driving down the highway; it's all part of our love affair with automobiles. However, how often do you see a World War II halftrack or Sherman tank at your local cruise in? How about a restored military jeep or armored car? While all car collectors share a common, perhaps illogical, affection for their vehicles, military vehicle collectors also share a common love of the history of their vehicles, and respect for the soldiers, sailors, and airmen who originally operated their vehicles in the service of their country; sometimes in combat.

That history will be on display in:

The Military Vehicle Preservation Association (MVPA) is an international organization of vehicle collectors, dedicated to preserving historic military vehicles. The annual convention is an opportunity for MVPA members from across the country, and around the world, to gather and celebrate all things "olive drab". But the MVPA convention is also a great opportunity for the general public as this may be the only opportunity to see over 125 historic military vehicles in one location and in your town! There is also a large swap meet with over 100 vendors set up on 350 plus tables, selling everything from parts to paint, canvas to uniforms and militaria.

A frequent guest is at the convention; Gunnery Sergeant "Gunny" R. Lee Ermey from History Channel's "Mail Call" who is often on hand Saturdays to sign autographs and sell his latest DVD. Other activities include How-to Seminars & Demonstrations; a Friday night BBQ & Auction; and the Awards Banquet & Big Band Dance (period uniforms and dress encourage) conclude the always-memorable 3-day event.

Watch this page for updates on future convention locations. Details and registration information is posted approximately 6 months prior to the event date.
