MVPA HISTORICAL ARCHIVES

The purpose of the MVPA Historical Archives is to collect, catalog, restore, preserve and display historical military items, objects and artifacts; to operate or participate in the operation of a museum of such items, objects and artifacts; and all other legal purposes allowed a nonprofit corporation. The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, education, religious or scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Operational Limitations:

Notwithstanding any other provisions of these articles, the corporation shall not carry on any other activities not permitted to be carried on (a) by a corporation exempt from Federal Income Tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States No part of the net earnings of the corporation (Historical Archives) shall inure to the benefit of, or be distributable to, its members, directors, officer or other private persons except that the corporation shall be authorized and empowered to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered.

Archive Donations

All donated objects become the property of the MVPA Historical Archives, Inc. All gifts are accepted with the understanding they are unrestricted and are offered without limiting conditions. The MVPA Historical Archives makes no implied promise that an object will be placed on exhibit. Gifts to the MVPA Historical Archives are tax deductible in accordance with the provisions of the Federal income tax laws. However, the MVPA Historical Archives assumes no responsibility to appraise donations. A receipt, noting the object donated, will be issued upon acceptance of the item(s).
