2022 Convention Update

May 10, 2022

MVPAHA Convention,  South Bend, IN, June 9-11,2022

WELCOME MVPAHA MEMBERS AND GUESTS!

I am writing as the newly appointed Events Director for the MVPAHA Conventions. I would like to update you on some of the important items you need to know.

TOURS: We have new tours you should check out. First,  a guided tour of the University of Notre Dame, and second, a tour of the South Bend Chocolate Factory. In addition, the Studebaker tour is on again this year. It was well-received during last year’s convention.

INSURANCE PARTNERSHIP AND SEMINAR: We have partnered with Hagerty Insurance as our Official Guaranteed Value Insurance Provider. Kelsey Henderson and Derek Hughes will be representing Hagerty during the 2022 MVPA Convention. Both have extensive knowledge with military vehicles. Kelsey and Derek will be presenting a seminar on Thursday afternoon to explain your many options and discounts for your vehicles. They have different policies for driving and non-driving vehicles, plus tools and equipment, and even offer insurance for affiliates who need a policy for a weekend event. It should be a great friendship.

PARKING: The parking lot adjacent to the Century Center will have parking available for you. Parking passes are available from the MVPA office for $30.00 for the week. Parking will be inside a fenced area and will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM. It will be locked and closed each day from 8 PM to 7 AM.

BBQ & AUCTION: Our BBQ dinner and auction will be held outside on the Century Center Island Pavilion (weather permitting). If the weather is bad, it will be inside on the lower level of the Century Center.

I would like each of you to consider bringing an item to be sold at our auction on Thursday night. Tom Clark will be gathering the items on Wednesday and Thursday, or you can drop it at the registration desk. All proceeds will benefit the MVPAHA.

VENDORS: To reserve your booth spaces for next year’s 2023 Convention in Des Moines, Iowa, you have two choices:

1. You can pay the full amount, minus a 25% discount at this year’s convention. There are no refunds if you cannot attend, but the full amount can be forwarded to the next convention.

2. You can pay 50% of the full amount at this year’s convention (no discount). The other 50% must be paid 90 days before the 2023 convention. This will hold your spot for you, but there will be no refunds.

GOODIES BAG: We will also have “goodies bags” to distribute to all attendees. If you wish to have something of yours to be placed in them, be sure to contact Susan at the MVPA office to make arrangements. We must have the items prior to the convention.

I want to thank John Cheney who did the pre-planning for the 2022 event. It has made my job much easier. Thanks, John.
